We have such amazing clients and it’s been such an honour to be documenting their special days. We had a fantastic time capturing the essence of Johnathan and Shannon’s small intimate ceremony in Petty Harbour, Newfoundland.
Shannon and Johnathan came to AGP a few months before their wedding and were willing to work around our schedule to have us capture their day. While we love the larger, more elaborate wedding days it was nice to document a small, more intimate wedding day that allowed us to capture some amazing moments.
Shannon and Johnathan’s intimate wedding day was like something out of a magazine. They were so relaxed, the weather was perfect and it made for the most awesome day for two lovebirds to get married. Their ceremony took place in the scenic town of Perry Harbour. Petty Harbour is a picturesque town of approximately 970 people located on the eastern shore of the Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The town settlement can be traced back to the 1600s.
The morning started at the bride and grooms home where Shannon got ready surrounded by only her closest friends and family. Johnathan, his groomsmen and his parents dressed for the day at his childhood home in Petty Harbour. The charming ceremony took place in a private location above a mini aquarium along the harbourside. Once the ceremony concluded and the formal portion was complete the couple toasted with friends and family on their new journey together as husband and wife. After family photos near the scenic Atlantic Ocean the couple visited Johnathan’s family fishing boat docked in the harbour. Petty Harbour is still an active fishing community with fishers involved in the cod and snow crab fishery, so there is no shortage of fishing culture in this small town. Incorporating this into Shannon and Johnathan’s photographs was super important in telling their wedding day story.
Next we travelled to a lookout point located up in the hills overlooking the beautiful green hills and harbour. It was the perfect location for these two to catch a moment together and enjoy each other’s company before we rushed off to the elegant reception located at The Mazol Shrine Center.
The couple entered their “happily ever after party” and heading straight to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. After a few sweet speeches thoughtful toasts the couple danced the night away with all their family and friends and rocked out in the AGP photo booth.

David Green - Very nice work. I’ve gone fishing with Doug Howlett on several occasions. I own some vacation rentals in Petty Harbour where we’ve had at least a half a dozen couples getting married –or eloping.
